Project Sunsetvine 01

sunset + vine

The award-winning Sunset + Vine was a significant catalyst in the cultural and physical renaissance of Hollywood, California. The five-story, mixed-use project, located at the famous intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street, houses 90,000 SF of retail space, 300 multifamily residential units, and an 830 stall parking facility. Sunset + Vine was a pioneering project using bold innovative design containing both a major urban retail focus and the first large-scale residential complex built in a commercial zone in its area. In a location more recently known for its urban decay and banality, visual excitement abounds with its 120' tall cylindrical ever-changing light tower that beckons both children and adults from afar. Through its street orientation and contemporary adaptation of Streamline Modern architecture found on the 1920's building preserved in the heart of the project, the pedestrian retailing experience has been rejuvenated and the sidewalks activated by its 18' glass lines and 23' ceiling heights. The design carefully incorporates classic design with contemporary flair. In doing so, it has captured coveted national retailers and prized, cutting-edge restaurants along with community pride. Through its use of innovative public art, highly visual design cues including super-graphics, tall walls, neon signage, and welcoming open spaces, the community's spirits have been lifted.
