As Development Associate at Bond Companies, Austen underwrites all acquisitions, financing, and development activities for the firm’s new endeavors. Austen is also a project manager and also provides support in investor relations, asset management, and leasing for Bond Companies’ portfolio of mixed-use and retail assets. Austen is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional and plays an active role in a number of different professional organizations such as the Urban Land Institute and Young Real Estate Professionals.
Austen received his MBA in Real Estate and Finance from Villanova Business School. During his time at Villanova, Austen studied abroad in Dubai in an International Business Practicum highlighting the real estate development, infrastructure, and urban planning in the United Arab Emirates. In 2017, he led a team of four graduate students in The Case Competition hosted by the MIT AACRE, placing first overall among 24 other graduate business programs. Austen holds a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Delaware.
Austen came to Bond Companies from Jones Lang Lasalle in Philadelphia. At JLL, he led office and industrial development projects for corporate clients such as Barclays Bank and Chubb Insurance. His other prior experience includes overseeing adaptive re-use of historical buildings, construction management, and environmental consulting.
